mahalo for supporting local

Hi Friends,

At the end of 2020 I shared my very first Holiday Gift Guide, which soon turned into a general “Hawaii Guide” as supporting small & local can be done year-round.

Visitors & friends frequently ask for recommendations and I’m always more than happy to share my favorites! My little list has expanded to 50+ of my faves… and even still, it’s just scratching the surface. Proud to say I’ve continued to dive deeper and find new ways to connect with my community.

Our little community has been hit hard with this pandemic. Throughout the year we’ve seen so many of our businesses ask for help, struggle through new challenges, and it breaks my heart to know that some had no choice but to permanently close their doors. What can we do when local businesses are continuously outrun by big corporations? It hits us all even harder especially in times of need.

Most of the money I would have spent traveling in 2020, was spent treating myself in a different way. I’m happy to say I supported local MUCH more this year than ever before and it feels so. good. Besides the beautiful brands and magical products, the inspiring connections I’ve recently encountered have filled my soul in new ways. With almost a whole year of no travel, I was missing the thrill of meeting new people, finding new things and stumbling upon new places… but ironically ended up finding all of that, here on our little island. I am TRULY GRATEFUL for our tight knit community of business owners, artists, and creatives; endless love + support to go around.

I put together my very first Gift Guide, specially curated from my LOCAL favorites— all of which are friends, people I’ve worked with, have fallen in love with their products, and/or all of the above. These are incredible brands I genuinely admire, run by amazing humans who continue to inspire me.
